Went to Polaris. Has some good stores. Sketched at the food court. Interesting folks too. Ate, bought a game, fell asleep, finals are fun. ^_^
Even though this is the last in-class sketch session, I would like to continue on my own. This was a really fun experience and very useful. Keep up to date. Should get better as I practice. Winter Break comes. Yaaaah!
Went to CATCO Production theater. Really lucky to see a personal comedy sketch. Guy was great and pretty funny. Got some good sketching shots. Going to Polaris next week. Will bring the champagne and monocle.
Sketching at Caribou Coffee off Tremont. Never been around here before but nice little neighborhood. Pretty slow at this time around. Hope to go to Barnes and Noble or Giant Eagle next time.
Fun environments but not so good on lighting in color. Hopefully I'll get a travel watercolor set so I can practice using then while I go on these sketch sessions.
Here we had to draw every pose with 2 or more people in them. I decided to really add the environments here as well. Used pencil first then pen to draw over them.
Sketching at the library today. Weather was much better at this time of day. Interesting to see that a lot of folks there had similar characteristics but diverse shapes, styles, and well, poses in general. Tried to get a lot of the environment this time to play with composition. I enjoyed playing with this idea. Hopefully next time I can get some watercolors in once I buy a pallet.
Went to the Panera at the Gateway. Tried out more of the pens. Seems to work but I need more practice. Had a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Really good drink. ^_^
Got some new pens this time with the Faber Castell pen set. Seems to have a lot more potential than my crappy pen I've been using. Plus the it doesn't smear like the gel pens do. Just ate at the new Market food court in near the Pod at school and sketched there. Terrible outside weather today. :(
Went to Stooofies again. Some good poses but really tried to implement environments. Never knew how off my proportions were until I placed a chair or table in there. -_- Plus, I need a new pen. It's kinda inky and since I draw hard it tends to smear.
Went to a nice cafe place (from what Tyler was saying) was called Stauf's. A lot of neat people coming and going. Caught one lady knitting and a few people either working in the cafe on laptops or students studying. I solid but then not so solid towards the end. Coffee has strange effects on my work I thinks.
Had some interesting visits at the Pizza by the Slice shop. Met a guy who went to art school too. Really cool guy and had some interesting stories. Then went over to the Dairy Mart on the way back.
This was one of the first chilly days in Ohio. Thought it'd be a good idea to sketch outside with my bro at the Ugly Tuna. Pretty bad idea. Some use of environment integration. Some poses with people holding onto their coats. ^_^
Ya so, North Market was not only pretty much closed last Monday but it was also pretty expensive for parking. Went to Pochie Tea Station up by Lane Avenue. Pretty slow there at first too but then started to pick up after a while. OSU student are starting up again so hopefully today at Barnes and Noble is a bit better with figures.
Posting a composite of drawings from Pochies and one quick environment. May do a quick watercolor on these sometime.
Here's a more complied version of all my sketches together rather than just posting a whole bunches of o' images. That kinda got annoying. These are from a burger place on the second level of the the Easton food court.
Here are a few sport poses. Great idea too. Really dynamic poses but had to draw pretty much from memory since the poses were so fast. I have some from football, hockey, and UFC or wrestling.
Today was fun and much better than last Wednesday. Got a diverse amount of people to sketch with from older to younger. Went to the Food Court first, then to a bench right outside Max and Erma's. Finally, I went outside after it rained to the water fountains. Some birds, parents and their kids, really good reference. Hope next Monday is just as good.
Still need to practice curvilinear lines though. >_<
